NEW WELSH FILM SEEKS TO 'AVOID CHRISTIAN BALE'
Both writer/director Paul Howard Allen and producer Vivien Müller-Rommel make their feature debuts, having already shot short films 'Shed Convention' and 'Indian Boyo', the latter shot on location in New Delhi, India.
The feature has been financed with the backing of Welsh television production company Boomerang+. Tornado Films’ Antony Smith serves as executive producer and Matthew Redd co-produces for Tornado.
'Avoiding Christian Bale' follows two hapless psychology students on the brink of failure attempting to write a crucial essay overnight. The title refers to the rhyming slang the characters invent for the grades, Christian Bale rhyming with fail. The young cast includes newcomers James Kristian, Amy Morgan, Gareth Aldon and Kimberly Wintle.
Allen, Müller-Rommel and Redd are all recent graduates of Skillset Screen Academy Wales, while Müller-Rommel and Redd also trained with Welsh training provider CYFLE.
Principal photography commences in Cardiff on December 1st.
